International Online Olympiad on Russian as a Foreign Language

As a reminder, the second round of the Olympiad closes on December 15.

If you successfully complete tasks of the first round and achieve required scores, a link for performing tasks of the second round will be available in your account.

The results will be reviewed after December 15.

FIRST INFORMATION LETTER

The Institute of Linguistics and International Communications of South Ural State University and the Pushkin Institute Centre announce an International Online Olympiad on Russian as a Foreign Language among foreign students who are studying in Russia and abroad.

DEAR PARTICIPANTS OF THE OLYMPIAD!

This year the Olympiad is going to be held in absentia, in two rounds. Bachelors and masters students studying in Russian and foreign universities are invited to take part in the event. The Olympiad is held in two disciplines: Russian language and culture; Russian language and digital technologies.

THE OLYMPIAD SCHEDULE

ROUND ONE - ELIMINATION

October 15 – December 15, 2018

The round is held online in the SUSU Testing system. Participants need to answer 30 multiple choice or matching questions to test the knowledge of Russian. The task completion time is 40 minutes. The maximum score is 100 points. The elimination round results determine participants of the next round.

To take part in the first (elimination) round, one should:

• register by filling out a registration form following the link.

We draw your attention to the fact that the access to questions of the first (elimination) round will be given for those who have registered.

ROUND TWO – FINAL

November 15 – December 15, 2018

The second (final) round of the Olympiad is held in absentia. A number of tasks with multiple choice, matching or open-ended questions will be offered to participants of the second round.

Topics of the second round are divided into 2 areas:

• Russian culture and history
• Digital technologies

The access to tasks of the second round will be granted after announcement of the results from the first round (December 10-15, 2018).

KEY DATES OF THE OLYMPIAD

• October 15 – December 15, 2018 – online registration of participants and the first round of the Olympiad
• November 15 – December 15, 2018 – notification of participants who pass to the second (final) round of the Olympiad
• November 15 – December 15, 2018 – second (final) round of the Olympiad
• December 1 – December 20, 2018 – review of the results of the Olympiad
