Yadviga Berezovskaya

Ph.D. (philology), Director of Pushkin Institute Centre, Associate Professor of the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language

In 2008, she graduated from the Faculty of Philology of Chelyabinsk State University majoring in Philology. In the period from 2008 to 2011, she pursued studies as a postgraduate student at the Language Theory Department.

In 2011, she defended the thesis for a Candidate’s degree (Philology) in the specialty 10.02.19 Language Theory.

In 2009, she worked as a lecturer at the Department of Russian Language of Chelyabinsk State University, later - as a senior lecturer.

Since 2013 she has been working as Associate Professor of the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language at South Ural State University.

Since 2014 she is a Director of Pushkin Institute Research, Education and Coordination Centre.

Since 2017 she is a secretary of the University Council.

Research Interests

Organisational linguistics, linguistic world image, Russian as a foreign language.

She has 55 publications, including 4 teaching guides, 1 teaching and resource book, 9 articles in the journals included in the List of reviewed publications (Higher Attestation Commission), 3 articles in the journals indexed by Web of Science, 1 certificate of database registration.

Yadviga Berezovskaya was involved in work within the grants:

  • of the Ministry of Education and Science for Implementation of Measures on the Support of Russian Language and Education in Russian within the Action Plan on the Support of Russian Language and Education in Russian, approved by the Russian Ministry of Education and Science (2014-2015).
  • of the Ministry of Education and Science in the framework of the Federal Target Programme “Russian Language for the period of 2016-2020”: “Development of a Robot-Assisted Dialogue System for Learning Russian by Different Target Groups with Subsequent Use in the Current System of Electronic Support of the Russian Language and Distance Education in Russian” (2016-2017).

She is actively involved in social work in the Russian Language and Literature Council under the Ministry of Education of Chelyabinsk Region.

She is a member of the Commission for Recognising Foreign Nationals as Russian Speakers in the Administration for Migration Issues.

She was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from the Ministry of Education and Science of Chelyabinsk Region for active and fruitful work as a member of Russian Language and Literature Council and on account of its 20th anniversary; a letter of appreciation from the Directorate of Youth Policy of the Ministry of Education and Science of Chelyabinsk Region for organisation and carrying out of Total Dictation-2016; a certificate of appreciation from the Chelyabinsk regional organisation the All-Russian Non-Profit Organisation “Znanie” for active participation in social work on Russian language preservation.
